For Colored Girls

Ntozake Shange’s ground breaking choreopoem, For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf is the playwright’s first and most widely produced theatrical work. The choreopoem tells the stories of seven women represented by seven colors, who have survived the triumphs and tragedies of being black women in a world of racism, oppression, and sexism.
