Doug Schroeder has been the Technical Director of KC Melting Pot Theatre since September 2020. Schroeder is a Kansas native and received a B.F.A. in technical theater from Emporia State University.
In addition to working as the technical director for KCMPT, Doug also is the production manager for the Kansas City Women’s Chorus and the Manager for Golf, Tennis and Aquatics at Parks and Recreation, City of Kansas City Missouri. Schroeder has over thirty years of design expertise.
He has worked with several theatrical organizations in Kansas City including the Kansas City Women’s Chorus, Theater in the Park and She and Her Productions.
His thoughtful designs for KCMPT productions, including Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun and Adrienne Kennedy’s Funnyhouse of a Negro, have provided important historical insights and design innovations that have elevated KCMPT productions and heightened the audience experience.
